Thanks for Giving Us Fedora

Fedora 10 hit the net today with its General Availability Release, or rather the un-beta version.  I posted earlier this summer that the version 9 release passed me by as I noted its two month anniversary.  There's plenty of resources out there for the first timer, but I wanted to write about the handy yum upgrade process for those of us who can't afford a clean wipe every six months when the Fedora Project releases its official versions.

Software Review: Mixxx Open Source DJ Software

Credit is due to CDMusic for introducing me to the Mixxx Open Source DJ Software last week.   Yes, that's three X's in mixxx and I assume it would have been four X's had mixxx.org been registered already like mixx and mix were.  My first impression to CDMusic's post was WOW; free software, no additional (proprietary) hardware and compatible with vinyl control.  That's pretty much all I ever wanted.

LiquidSoap on Fedora 8 - First Attempt

We have a new task.  Not sure that anyone really prefers to listen to ogg as much as mp3, so we're going to increase our availability.  Our task is to install liquidsoap in order to accomplish this feat.  On Fedora 8 it's been difficult to find a solution.  I have not been able to track down any binary packages for FC8, so we've taken it upon ourselves (or myself) to figure it out....  On Fedora, we do the following.
