Raconteurs Sell New Album Online

I definitely don't see The Raconteurs as an obvious fit for the site, but I must break my own completely-made-up-bloglines to make sure this gets posted.

In my hiatus from electronic music throughout recent years, some alternatives have carved a new and special place in my musical brain. It's not that I don't like techno as much as I used to, I just can't listen to it ALL THE TIME. In lieu, I have found some really great artists who create a truly relative music experience. It's like swimming in your favorite pond before knowing about that crystal blue quarry in the next county. I'm comfortable with the music I know and grew up with (especially as a DJ who needs to know alot about his own music), but there's also that exciting feeling when you don't fully understand a certain type of music. The Raconteurs are in that classification for me. They're original to the point that every song is new because you hear a little bit more with every listen. They also have that classic 'entire album' thing going for them, where each track flows to the next and you find yourself with an entire work not just a spattering of catchy singles (dare I compare to a quality dj mix). It's rare to get these qualities from a group anymore.

And if that's not enough... they're selling their digital download and vinyl versions of the album online. Of course you probably noticed that from the banner I am advertising below. Yet another bonus... the site claims to be copyright 1982 with a retro green/black console and integrated keyboard-only navigation. Right On Raconteurs!
