Streaming Services are Ramping Up

This past week I made excellent progress toward the available streaming services.  Liquidsoap is proving to be an enormously wonderful tool for bringing sound to the site.  Check out the post Liquidsoap on Fedora for more details.  I  added some important technical updates to that post.

Now available, we have a static Ogg stream which is surveying the use of Music Player Daemon and a more dynamic MP3 Stream which provides a main playlist of featured dj mixes and homebase live feeds; both streaming through some well positioned icecast relays.  Each stream is providing roughly 64-128k/sec and we should be able to handle about 20 listeners at our current capacity.  Please chime in if you are listening along.  I have built on a well-scaled platform, so we should be able to grow.

Though I have a problem sticking to certain schedules, I'll try to keep live shows running regularly.  Torrents will be posted for all shows, because I don't expect everyone to stick to my schedule.  I am planning some live shows which will be primarily tehcno/house mixes.  My wife would like to bring some celeb gossip to the audio channels, but our people are still discussing contracts.  She may be limited to an 1/2 hour per week as her and her friends could go on pretty much all weekend.  We'll publish a calendar as soon as we have something to present.

BIG NOTE:  I can't speak too much for the large variety of content as of yet.  I am in the process of organizing both my media (which is a hell-a-lot) and the services to deliver them.   Some patience could be required as I am in 'testing' mode.
